The physique of a 48-year-old man was discovered on Saturday in a gap he had dug on his property, close to Lesar Courtroom, in Steenberg.
The household looked for Vernon Williams after he didn’t return house on Thursday, however they had been unsuccessful to find him.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, stated Williams’ physique was found below the sand within the gap he had dug.
He was declared lifeless on the scene.
The spokesperson for the Metropolis’s Fireplace and Rescue Division, Jermaine Carelse, informed News24 the incident was first reported to them on Friday night.
When members of the family couldn’t confirm the person’s whereabouts, a crew from Lakeside Fireplace Station, and the police, had been dispatched to the placement.
“On Saturday, the crew was once more referred to as out, at roughly 12:30, to Lesar Courtroom. The members of the family couldn’t discover any indication of the individual as they apparently searched hospitals and police stations.
