Belhar mom of two killed by stray bullet as she drops her youngsters off at college



Police investigating the deadly taking pictures of a mom of two exterior her kids’s faculty.

  • A mom of two was killed in Belhar shortly after dropping off her kids at college.
  • The lady is believed to have been hit by a stray bullet.

The Belhar group is reeling after a mom was killed when she was allegedly hit by a stray bullet close to her kids’s faculty.

The 25-year-old mom of two was dropping off her kids on Friday morning when she was hit by a bullet a brief distance from Riebeekstraat Major Faculty.

Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg stated investigations had been underway and police had been combing the scene for clues.

“Preliminary studies counsel {that a} 25-year-old feminine was shot and fatally wounded on Friday morning in De Braak Sq., Belhar. The suspects fled the scene and are but to be arrested,” stated Twigg.

Western Cape training division spokesperson Bronagh Hammond stated that they had been alerted to the incident and had despatched officers to the varsity to offer the required assist, with counselling being made out there for academics and pupils.

“I sadly and sadly can affirm that there was a taking pictures incident, allegedly gang-related, exterior the varsity on Friday morning,” she stated. 

“Tragically, a mom taking her Grade 1 and 4 kids to high school was allegedly shot by a stray bullet and sadly succumbed to her accidents,” she added. 

Belhar ward councillor Willie Japhta stated the group was in nice shock as this was the second mindless killing in two days.

“Thursday, a younger man was shot and killed and now this younger mom of two younger kids has been killed,” he stated.

Japhta added that residents had been up in arms as they had been being terrorised by these shootings which have turn out to be an increasing number of widespread. 

“It will be important for raids to happen so these weapons might be faraway from the group,” he urged.
